"He got our dog to actually look relaxed in front of a camera, which nobody has managed before — not even us."
Pet Photography
They won't hold still, and that's the point.
Same approach as everything else I shoot — no forced poses, no bribing them into a stare at the camera. We go somewhere they actually like being, whether that's the beach, the woods, or your own back garden, and I photograph them being themselves.
Dogs, cats, horses, the odd chicken — if they're part of the family, they're worth photographing properly.

Anywhere they're comfortable
Home, garden, favourite walking spot, or the beach — wherever they're most themselves.
Their pace, not a schedule
Sessions run as long as they need to — no rushing a nervous or excitable animal through a shot list.
Golden hour, when we can
Early morning or evening light is kinder to fur, eyes, and energy levels alike.
Humans welcome too
Happy to include the rest of the family in the shoot, or keep it just about them.

Pet Session FAQ
My dog is nervous or reactive — is that a problem?
Not at all. Tell me beforehand and we'll plan around it — quieter locations, more time, no rushing.
Do you photograph cats?
Yes, usually at home where they're relaxed. Cats mostly dictate the session on their own terms, which is fine by me.
Can we do a session with multiple pets, or pets and family together?
Yes — just let me know the full cast when you enquire so I can plan enough time.
Should I bring treats or toys?
Please do — their favourites are usually the best way to get a genuine reaction rather than a stare at a stranger.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?
Same policy as every other session — we reschedule at no extra cost if conditions aren't workable.
Ready when they are.
Send a message with a bit about your pet and we'll find a time that suits.
